Ep. 006: Betsy was a Salty Girl

Teacher Librarians Chris Patrick and Tracy Chrenka present “Loud in the Library Ep. 006: Betsy was a Salty Girl” in which they speak with YA author Ruta Sepetys about her hometown of Detroit, the importance of historical fiction, and her early experience as a banned books author. Chris and Tracy also speak with School Library Journal reviews director Kiera Parrot about SLJ’s 2016 Best Books list, which is now available at slj.com.

Loud in the Library’s next episode will be released on December 15 and will feature an interview with Bruce Cameron, author of A Dog’s Purpose and A Dog’s Journey.

    Excellent! Loved listening to Ruta Sepetys, although at times she sounded just like Tracy. Never knew Ruta was from the Detroit area. Makes me like the author even more, because that is where I am from!
