Some other summer reading lists that might interest you.

Scholastic’s Summer Reading Book List – The Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge is a free online reading program dedicated to encouraging kids to read every day this summer. Studies show that when kids don’t read over the summer, they lose core reading skills and fall behind when they go back to school. This year’s Summer Reading Challenge focuses on the helping kids achieve the “Summer Leap” — the learning or reading skills gained during the summer months that help students prepare to tackle the upcoming school year.

ALSC 2016 Summer Reading Lists – The lists are full of book titles to keep children engaged in reading throughout the summer. Four Summer Reading book lists are available for Birth-Preschool, K-2nd, 3rd– 5th and 6th-8th grade students.

This Summer’s 14 must reads by Wired magazine – THE CONCEPT OF the “beach read” is problematic—mainly because most states don’t have beaches, but also because it gives you an excuse to read garbage. Resist the temptation! The only thing breezy about your summer reading should be the cool wind on your sun-baked faces.

Brainy Beach Reads –  Just because you’re checked out of the office doesn’t mean you’re checked out of great reading.

42 Amazing Beach Reads You Won’t Be Able to Put Down (from O Magazine) – It’s that time of year again! Don’t miss our annual guide to the season’s most gloriously engrossing reads.

Publisher’s Weekly’s Summer Reads 2016 – This summer’s crop of new books offers something for everyone. PW staff picks include Noah Hawley’s blockbuster thriller (Before the Fall), Russell Banks’s dispatches from all over the globe (Voyager), a 900-page manga-style biography (The Osamu Tezuka Story), and much more. After surveying our staff picks, be sure to take a look at our category picks for even more books to stash in your suitcase or beach bag.
